Bio
Recruited from the local Montague district via the Oakleigh Football Club, Noel Tyrrell was a solidly built utility who earned a brief opportunity with South Melbourne during the mid-1950s. Standing 184cm and weighing 86kg, he possessed the physical dimensions of a key position player for the era, offering the Bloods a sturdy option in the contest. Despite South Melbourne languishing in the bottom half of the ladder during his tenure, Tyrrell struggled to break into the senior rotation permanently, managing sporadic appearances across the 1954 and 1955 seasons. He finished his VFL career with just four games to his name, serving as a depth player before departing the league.
