Family

Recruited from the local Essendon Association side, Norm Busbridge was the younger brother of club champion Bill Busbridge, joining his sibling at East Melbourne for the 1907 season. While he featured in five of the year's opening six matches, he could not replicate Bill's long-term success at the top level and eventually transferred to Williamstown in the VFA. Busbridge carved out a significant career with the Seagulls, serving as vice-captain and playing 59 games across two stints that were interrupted by military service in France during World War I. Following his return, he concluded his playing days in the Association and later served as coach of the Williamstown juniors.
