Bio
Hailing from Tarwin Lower in South Gippsland, Norm Cashin arrived at Princes Park via the Glenhuntly Amateurs. He made his debut in the 1936 season, operating as a defensive-minded player who could hold his own in a contest but rarely ventured forward to impact the scoreboard. After managing just three senior appearances in his debut year, Cashin became a more regular fixture under captain-coach Percy Bentley in 1937, playing 11 games as the Blues built toward a successful era. Despite this solid run of form, he was unable to consolidate a long-term position in the side, departing the club just one season prior to Carlton's 1938 premiership triumph.
