Bio
Recruited from Northcote High School after impressing Richmond star Jack Baggott on the cricket pitch, Norm Dickson was a prolific forward whose senior opportunities were severely limited by the presence of club legend Jack Titus. A dominant force at the lower level, Dickson topped the VFL Reserves goalkicking in 1936—highlighted by a massive 14-goal haul in a single match against Fitzroy—but found it nearly impossible to displace the durable Titus from the full-forward post. He eventually carved out a spot in the senior lineup in 1939, booting 19 goals for the season and featuring in the Tigers' semi-final side, before a training injury and subsequent enlistment in the Army for World War II prematurely ended his VFL career. After the war, he returned to the field in the VFA with Northcote, where he later served as coach.
