Bio
A tall recruit from local side West Footscray, Norm Edwards stood 187cm and offered a significant physical presence for the Bulldogs during the early 1950s. He broke into the senior lineup for two matches early in the 1950 season but struggled to retain his place, spending the next 15 months plying his trade in the reserves. Edwards earned a final recall for the last round of the 1951 season against South Melbourne, where he booted his only VFL goal in a comfortable victory. Unable to consolidate a regular spot in the starting eighteen, his brief top-level career serves as a snapshot of the era's local talent pathway, stepping up to fill a void before departing the VFL scene.
