Bio
Recruited from Melbourne Grammar, Norm Hall entered the VFL with significant pedigree as the nephew of Australian Test cricketer and coaching pioneer Jack Worrall. A lively forward who knew where the goals were, he initially found it difficult to cement a spot in the senior side, managing just three appearances across his first two seasons before transferring to amateur club Collegians. Hall returned to the League in 1918 when Essendon rejoined the competition following a two-year recess during the Great War. He made the most of his recall in that final season, booting 15 majors to finish as the club’s leading goalkicker, though his top-flight career ultimately concluded at the end of the year with just 13 games to his name.
