Bio
Recruited from a dominant Scotch College program where he played in three consecutive First XVIII premierships, Norm McLeod was a foundation player for the Melbourne Football Club. He earned his spot in the Redlegs' inaugural VFL lineup in 1897, utilised as a defender who could hold his own in the senior side immediately out of school football. McLeod featured heavily during the historic first season of the league, missing just three games, but found opportunities harder to come by in 1898. He managed only a handful of appearances in his second year before departing the top level, eventually pursuing a banking career in regional Victoria before his untimely death in 1913.
