Bio
Recruited from Scotch College, Norm Richards was a foundation player for University upon the club's entry into the VFL in 1908. A model of consistency for the amateur side, he became a fixture in the Students' lineup and missed very few matches across his three seasons at the elite level. With a low goal-kicking output suggesting a primary role in the defensive half or as a disciplined follower, Richards provided essential stability during the club's most competitive years in the league. He departed the VFL scene following the 1910 season, leaving a legacy as one of the short-lived club's most durable and dependable early servants.
