Stats
Bio
Norm Wilson was a promising forward recruited from Cheltenham who joined Melbourne during the final stages of the Second World War. Although he signed with the Demons in 1944, his transition to League football was delayed until the 1945 season due to his service with the Army. He quickly displayed his raw scoring potential in an exhibition match at Warracknabeal, where he famously booted 15 goals to stake a claim as a future spearhead. Wilson played the majority of his senior football on a half-forward flank before a short stint at full-forward in 1946, where he managed nine goals in three games. Despite showing glimpses of talent in front of the big sticks, his VFL career was brief; he transferred to the VFA to play for Brighton in 1948 before eventually returning to his junior club, Cheltenham.
