Bio
Recruited from Norwood in South Australia, Orazio Fantasia burst onto the scene at Essendon, where his electric pace and clinical finishing made him a cult hero and one of the league's most dangerous small forwards. He played a pivotal role in the Bombers' attack during his peak years, famously prompting enthusiastic commentary whenever he went near the ball, though his tenure was increasingly interrupted by persistent soft-tissue setbacks. Seeking a medical reset and a return home, he requested a trade to Port Adelaide following the 2020 season, hoping to recapture his best form in familiar surroundings.
His time at Alberton began brightly with a productive debut season, but the injury curse returned, limiting him to just a handful of appearances over the subsequent two years. After being delisted by the Power, he was thrown a lifeline by Carlton as a delisted free agent, reuniting with senior coach Michael Voss to add experienced depth to the Blues' forward line. Despite managing to add to his game tally in navy blue, he struggled to consistently break into the best 22, eventually departing the club at the conclusion of the 2025 season with a legacy of undeniable talent that was unfortunately curtailed by his body.
