Bio
Recruited from VFA club Brunswick following a protracted clearance dispute, Ossie Green holds the unfortunate distinction of being the first VFL player to appear in every match of a season only to be dropped for the Grand Final. The versatile utility featured in all 20 games of Melbourne's 1926 campaign, filling roles across the backline, forward line, and midfield, but was omitted from the premiership side during a tactical reshuffle caused by Bob Corbett's injury. Following this disappointment, Green moved north to captain Eastern Suburbs in Sydney and represented New South Wales against Victoria, eventually returning to the Demons for two brief stints as a fringe player before finishing his VFL career in 1931.
