Bio
Recruited from Warrnambool, Otto Landmann was a clever full-forward who made an immediate impact, earning representative honours for the VFL in his debut season. His career highlight came in 1908 when he booted seven of Essendon's eight goals against South Melbourne, a dominant performance that saw him carried off the ground by jubilant fans. Despite finishing that year as the club's second-leading goalkicker, he was controversially omitted from the Grand Final side, a selection decision that baffled supporters. Landmann eventually fell out of favour at Essendon and was cleared to Melbourne midway through 1910 for a brief stint before finishing his playing days in the VFA with Brighton.
