Stats
Bio
Recruited from Ballarat, Otto Sonnleitner was a solidly built utility who earned a brief opportunity with South Melbourne during the 1961 VFL season. Possessing a sturdy 184cm and 92kg frame, he offered a robust physical presence but found it difficult to cement a regular spot in a Swans lineup that finished mid-table. His senior career was ultimately limited to three matches and a solitary goal before his tenure at the Lake Oval concluded. While his time at the elite level was fleeting, Sonnleitner later established a significant legacy in the broader sporting community as a highly respected swimming coach and life member of the Australian Swim Coaches and Teachers Association.
