Bio
Arriving at Arden Street from Casterton in the Western District, Pat Gill carried a significant football pedigree as he looked to break into the VFL ranks following the Second World War. He was the son of former Geelong player George "Leather" Gill and the nephew of Carlton legend and premiership captain Frank Gill. A compact footballer standing just 173cm, Gill was given his opportunity as a mature-age debutant at 25 years old during the 1946 season. Despite his strong family connections to the game, his stint at the top level was brief, managing just two senior appearances for the Shinboners in a short lived VFL career.
