Bio
Recruited from Coragulac in Victoria's western districts, Pat Harrington was a diminutive wingman who played a solitary season for South Melbourne in 1954. Standing at just 173cm, he broke into the senior lineup in Round 5 against Collingwood, retaining his place for seven matches during the middle of the year as the club looked for options through the midfield. Harrington played alongside Swans icons such as Ron Clegg and future Brownlow Medallist Fred Goldsmith but struggled to impact the scoreboard, finishing his brief VFL stint without a goal. He eventually departed the Lake Oval and returned to country football, living out his days in the Colac region where he had originally made his name.
