Stats
Bio
Hailing from Cobram, Pat Kennedy was a strong-bodied utility who balanced his football duties with engineering studies at the University of Melbourne. After making his debut with Carlton and playing 23 games as a serviceable contributor, he was cleared to Hawthorn midway through the 1925 season to bolster the lineup of the newly admitted VFL club. While his on-field impact at Glenferrie Oval was limited to just three appearances, his arrival established a historic bloodline, as he was the second cousin of future club icon John Kennedy Snr, making him the first of the famous Kennedy clan to don the brown and gold. His career was brought to an abrupt halt by a severe knee injury sustained in only his third game for the Hawks, forcing him into premature retirement before he returned to the country as a coach.
