Bio
Born in Brunswick, Pat Robertson was a local product who joined Essendon as the league worked to regain its footing in the immediate aftermath of the First World War. He made a memorable start to his VFL career, booting his only career goal on debut in a Round 1 clash against St Kilda at East Melbourne in 1919. Despite that early highlight, Robertson settled into a role as a defensive-minded player, featuring primarily as a backman for the 'Same Olds' during a lean rebuilding phase for the club. He remained a regular fixture in the senior side for two seasons, accumulating 18 games before departing the top level at the conclusion of the 1920 season, just prior to the club's historic move to Windy Hill.
