Bio
Elevating from the rookie list via the NSW/ACT Rams pathway, Paul Bevan became a significant local success story for the Sydney Swans. He made an immediate impact early in his career, earning a Rising Star nomination in 2004 and cementing his spot in the senior side the following year. His greatest achievement came in 2005, where he played every game of the season, culminating in the club's historic Premiership victory over West Coast.
A workmanlike utility, Bevan was best known for his defensive accountability and ferocious tackling pressure. While primarily deployed as a lockdown defender capable of shutting down dangerous small forwards, he demonstrated his versatility later in his career by swinging forward to pinch-hit as a defensive goal-kicker. Despite being a durable contributor for nearly a decade, he fell out of favour during the Swans' regeneration period and was delisted at the conclusion of the 2011 season, leaving the game as a 100-game player and premiership hero.
