Teams

Recruited from SANFL powerhouse Woodville-West Torrens, Paul Bulluss arrived at Punt Road as a mature-age recruit via the 1992 National Draft and immediately solidified a key defensive post for the Tigers. Standing 194cm, he was a rangy and disciplined full-back or centre half-back who prioritised spoiling but possessed the strength to take contested intercept marks, famously pulling down 11 grabs against Brisbane in 1995. Bulluss became a cornerstone of the Richmond backline during the mid-1990s resurgence under John Northey, playing a vital role in the club's drought-breaking 1995 finals campaign and earning selection for South Australia in State of Origin. While occasionally tasked with pinch-hitting in the ruck, he is best remembered as a no-nonsense defender who regularly stood the opposition’s most dangerous key forwards before departing the AFL at the end of 1998.
