Recruited from East Wangaratta in the Ovens and Murray Football League, Paul Feltham established himself as a tireless wingman and half-forward during North Melbourne's golden era under Ron Barassi. With his distinctively long hair and relentless running capacity, he became a fixture in the Kangaroos' lineup, playing a vital role in the club's breakthrough 1975 premiership victory over Hawthorn. His ability to cover the ground and drift forward to impact the scoreboard made him a valuable asset in a star-studded midfield that drove the club's 1970s dominance.

Feltham's time at Arden Street ended in controversy following the 1976 season due to a protracted clearance dispute. The standoff was severe enough that he stood out of football for the entire 1977 season, causing him to miss North Melbourne's historic drawn Grand Final and subsequent premiership replay win against Collingwood. He eventually secured a move to Richmond for the 1978 season, but after adding seven games to his career tally with the Tigers, he retired from VFL football.
