Bio
Recruited from local club Keilor, Paul McDonald was a key position prospect who dominated at the lower levels but found senior opportunities scarce at Windy Hill. A centre half-forward, he built an impressive resume in the reserves, winning the Best First Year Player award and claiming the reserves' runner-up Best and Fairest in his final season, yet was restricted to just 10 senior appearances over four years. Following his time at Essendon, McDonald headed west to play a season with Subiaco in the WAFL before returning to Victoria to forge a successful VFA career with Prahran and Port Melbourne.
