Bio
A tall, athletic defender who battled hard for every opportunity, Paul Morrish carved out a journeyman career across three clubs during a transitional era of the league. Hailing from Ouyen Rovers, he initially rose through the ranks at Richmond—even earning best-on-ground honours in the 1987 Under 19s Grand Final—but found senior opportunities scarce at Punt Road. His career was revived by Essendon in the 1990 Mid-Season Draft, where his pace and close-checking ability on a half-back flank saw him add valuable depth to the Bombers' defensive stocks. However, it was at Fitzroy where he finally found regular senior football; recruited as a persistent third-chance option, he played the bulk of his career games with the Lions, utilising his mobility to wear down forwards before eventually concluding his time at the top level.
