Bio
Recruited from Taroona High School in Tasmania, Paul Morrison arrived at Punt Road as a highly touted teenager following an All-Australian selection at the 1968 Schoolboys' Carnival. He made an immediate impression in the Tigers' development pathways, featuring in the 1969 Under-19s premiership side before breaking into Tom Hafey's senior lineup as a 17-year-old in 1970. A smooth-moving centreman and half-forward known for his booming drop kick, Morrison showed significant promise early on, famously booting a long goal to start his first full game at VFL Park. However, his time at the top level was marred by misfortune, most notably in the 1970 Reserves Grand Final where he kicked a potential match-winning goal in the dying seconds, only to see it disallowed for a teammate's shepherd. A persistent leg injury ultimately curtailed his VFL career after just five senior appearances, though he later found success in the VFA, winning a best and fairest with Gardiner in 1972.
