Bio
Recruited as the captain of West Torrens in the SANFL, Paul Patterson joined the Adelaide Crows as an inaugural squad member tasked with adding mature-age leadership to the fledgling list. A versatile utility capable of playing in defence or drifting forward, he made his debut during the club's historic first season but found it difficult to secure a permanent position in the senior lineup. Despite his commanding reputation at state level, Patterson struggled to adjust to the pace of the national competition, managing just nine appearances across three years on the list. He was delisted at the conclusion of the 1993 season and returned to the SANFL, where he continued his career as a stalwart for the Woodville-West Torrens Eagles.
