Bio
Arriving at North Melbourne as a teenage recruit, Paul Rowe made his senior debut in 1960 but saw his VFL prospects derailed by a chronic groin injury. Primarily deployed as a half-back flanker, he was a mobile defender capable of reading the play, yet he struggled to maintain fitness and managed only 15 games across three struggling seasons for the club. Forced out of the league by his physical battles, Rowe subsequently moved to the Goulburn Valley, where he reinvented himself as a legendary captain-coach for Tongala. Apart from a solitary season in the VFA with Coburg in 1969, he spent the majority of his football life as a celebrated figure in regional Victoria, leaving a lasting mark as a leader on the field and a teacher in the classroom.
