Bio
Drafted by Collingwood with pick 76 in the 2010 National Draft, Paul Seedsman arrived at the club with a rich family history as the great-grandson of former Magpies president Jim Sharp. Initially deployed as a rebounding defender, he established a reputation for his daring run-and-carry and long kicking, highlighted by a standout performance that earned him the Anzac Day Medal in 2015. Despite this potential, he struggled to cement a permanent spot in Nathan Buckley's side and requested a trade to Adelaide at the end of the 2015 season seeking greater opportunity and a more defined role on the wing.
At the Crows, Seedsman evolved into one of the competition's most damaging outside runners, using his elite endurance and penetrating right boot to break opposition zones. He became a fan favourite for his ability to launch goals from outside 50, including the occasional torpedo, and enjoyed a career-best season in 2021 where he was named in the All-Australian squad of 40. However, his career was brought to a premature and unfortunate close due to persistent concussion symptoms sustained during a training incident in late 2021. After missing two full seasons attempting to recover, he retired in 2023, remembered as a dynamic wingman whose prime was cut short by injury.
