Bio
Recruited from the Prahran juniors within St Kilda's metropolitan zone, Paul Temay was a tall midfielder and utility who showed flashes of genuine quality during a lean era for the Saints. Standing 185cm, he possessed the size to play as a flanker or on the ball, where he demonstrated a capacity to accumulate possessions and use the ball efficiently by foot. His career was defined by a battle for continuity; despite a breakout run of form in late 1986 where he consistently racked up high disposal numbers, he was unable to cement a long-term spot in the senior side. Temay remained on the list until 1987 but departed the VFL scene at just 24 years of age, later seeing his name return to the draft board when his son, Tom, was selected by Carlton in 2012.
