Bio
Recruited from West Preston in the Diamond Valley Football League, Paul Tilley was a tall ruckman and key position prospect who progressed through Fitzroy’s under-19s system. Standing at 194cm, he broke into the Lions' senior side in 1985 but found it difficult to command a regular spot in the starting lineup, playing just 13 games over two seasons. Seeking greater opportunities, Tilley moved to St Kilda for the 1987 season, where he was utilised as a backup option in the Saints' ruck division. He managed just two senior appearances for the club late in the year before departing the VFL to continue his football journey in the Ovens & Murray and Diamond Valley leagues.
