Stats
Bio
Recruited from Crib Point on the Mornington Peninsula, Paul Tolson arrived at Hawthorn with a fearsome reputation as a prolific goalkicker. He had dominated the MPNFL in 1967, booting a massive 123 goals to top the league's goalkicking table and help drive his local club through a golden premiership era. Despite his dominance at country level, the 179cm attacker found the step up to VFL standard difficult, lacking the height for a key position and struggling to replicate his scoring power against the league's elite defences. Tolson managed just nine senior games over two seasons at Glenferrie Oval, serving as a fringe forward option before departing the club at the end of 1969.
