Bio
Recruited from Yea in country Victoria, Percy Barton arrived at Richmond during the club’s formative years in the VFL. He earned a late-season promotion to the senior side in 1909, debuting against St Kilda in Round 14 and retaining his spot for the following week’s clash with South Melbourne. While he was unable to impact the scoreboard during his two appearances, his time at Punt Road represents a fleeting moment in the Tigers' early history. Tragically, any potential for a return to top-level football was extinguished just three years later when Barton was killed in a motorcycle accident in Melbourne at the age of 24.
