Stats
Bio
Following in the footsteps of his older brother Hugh, Percy Heron arrived at Fitzroy and immediately proved himself as a vital cog in the Maroons' midfield rotation. Standing just 168cm, he was a classic rover of the era—quick, elusive, and capable of finding the goals—and famously featured in the followers division alongside club legend Bill Walker during the 1913 Grand Final victory over St Kilda. A consistent senior regular who missed few games during his tenure, Heron’s promising career was cut short in its prime when he enlisted for service in World War I following the 1915 season. Though he never returned to VFL level after his deployment, his contribution to the club's fifth premiership ensures his standing in Fitzroy history.
