Bio
Recruited from the Ovens and Murray Football League, Percy Jones was a prolific full-forward who caught Geelong's attention after booting a massive 104 goals for Hume Weir in 1928 while working on the weir's construction. He earned his senior VFL debut in Round 8, 1929 against Hawthorn, showing immediate promise by slotting two goals in a comfortable win. However, his stint at the top level was brief, managing just one further appearance and a single goal against South Melbourne the following week. Jones eventually returned to the country leagues, continuing his goal-kicking dominance with Weir United and Border United into the 1930s rather than pursuing a long-term career at Corio Bay.
