Bio
Recruited from local club South Footscray, Percy Malbon was a solidly built tall who earned his VFL opportunity with the Bulldogs during the wartime 1941 season. Standing 185cm, a significant height for the era, he offered a physical presence as a forward and follower, showing promise by booting six goals across his nine senior appearances. A Yarraville native, Malbon was a mature-age debutant at 23 years old, stepping up to fill a void in a lineup that was increasingly in flux due to military enlistments. His career was ultimately limited to that single campaign, standing as a classic example of the local talent that kept the league afloat during the turbulent years of the Second World War.
