Bio
Recruited from VFA side Essendon Town, Percy Pitt made a blistering start to his brief VFL career with Carlton in 1904. A dangerous forward who clearly knew the way to goal, he booted 11 majors in his first five appearances, including valuable three-goal hauls against Collingwood and Melbourne to quickly endear himself to the Princes Park faithful. However, his rich vein of form proved fleeting; the goals dried up completely in his subsequent three outings, and he lost his place in the side following the Round 8 clash with St Kilda. While his tenure at the top level was short-lived, Pitt left the Blues with a handy strike rate of better than a goal a game during the club's developmental phase under legendary coach Jack Worrall.
