Bio
Recruited from Yarragon in Gippsland, Percy Roberts was a tall defender who had two distinct stints with Fitzroy. He first broke into the senior side as a nineteen-year-old in 1929, managing just two appearances before departing to play country football with Mornington. Roberts returned to the Brunswick Street Oval for the 1932 season, where he successfully established himself in the backline and played 16 consecutive matches between Round 3 and Round 18. Despite finally cementing a spot in the side, he left the VFL again the following year to join Ballan. His legacy at the club is somber, as he is remembered as one of the Fitzroy players who died on active service during World War II, perishing as a prisoner of war in Burma.
