Stats
Bio
Born in Latvia, Peter Agrums was a pioneering figure among the wave of "New Australians" who impacted the VFL during the post-war migration boom. Recruited from the Golden Point Football Club in the Ballarat Football League, he arrived at Arden Street as a towering ruckman, standing 193cm in an era where such height was a significant asset. Agrums debuted in 1963 and was utilised primarily for his tap work and presence in the air, though he found it difficult to cement a permanent spot in the senior side. His VFL career was ultimately brief, spanning just two seasons, but he remains notable as one of the league's first Latvian-born players. Following his time in Melbourne, he eventually moved to New South Wales where he served as a coach for the University of Wollongong.
