Bio
A product of the VFA system, Peter Bourke was a diminutive utility who played the role of a determined journeyman during his brief VFL/AFL career. Originally from Mitcham, he spent time in the reserves at Richmond without breaking through, eventually making his name at Box Hill before Essendon handed him a solitary senior debut late in the 1988 season. Delisted by the Bombers, he was thrown a lifeline by Fitzroy in the 1989 Pre-Season Draft, where he enjoyed his most consistent football, playing 13 games in his first year at the club. Standing just 173cm, Bourke was a rotational small man who battled for selection over three seasons at the Lions before eventually returning to Box Hill to feature in their 1994 VFA Grand Final side.
