Teams

Recruited from Dimboola in the Wimmera district, Peter Brown was a versatile follower and rover who arrived at Arden Street during a turbulent era for the club. Originally hailing from Ballarat and having cut his teeth with West Melbourne and Williamstown Juniors, Brown managed nine senior appearances and seven goals in the 1928 season. His time in the VFL was abruptly cut short when he was reportedly one of eight players stood down by the committee mid-year as the struggling club took drastic action to reset its playing list. Despite this unceremonious exit, Brown forged a successful post-VFL career in the VFA, becoming a key figure in Northcote's golden era where he won three premierships between 1929 and 1933.
