Bio
Recruited from VFA club Prahran, Peter Charleston was a determined utility who worked hard to earn his opportunities at VFL level. He made his debut for Hawthorn in 1951 but found it difficult to cement a regular spot in the senior side, managing just six appearances for the Hawks across three seasons. Seeking a fresh start, he crossed to South Melbourne in 1954, but his opportunities remained limited to just two final games with the Swans. Although his time at the elite level was brief and yielded no goals, Charleston remained a lifelong supporter of the Hawks, maintaining a deep connection to the club until his passing in 2025.
