Bio
Recruited from Maryborough, Peter Chilton was a wingman who joined Hawthorn as the club began its ascent under John Kennedy Snr. While he possessed the running capacity required for the role, Chilton found it difficult to command a regular position in a lineup that was evolving into a powerhouse, managing just 37 games across five seasons. He served as a depth player during the Hawks' rise, appearing four times in the 1971 premiership season but missing out on selection for the Grand Final triumph. Chilton departed Glenferrie Oval at the conclusion of that year, leaving the VFL just as the Hawks established their dynasty.
