Bio
Recruited from the Old Melburnians in the Victorian Amateur Football Association, Peter Cooper joined St Kilda as a 19-year-old prospect in the mid-1950s. Standing 180cm and weighing 80kg, he possessed a solid frame for a young player, allowing him to compete physically as a utility option. Cooper broke into the senior side during the 1954 season, managing three appearances in a year where the Saints struggled mightily and finished with the wooden spoon. Despite earning a place on the list for the following season, he was unable to cement a regular spot in the 22 and did not add to his game tally. His VFL career concluded after those three matches, a brief tenure typical of the high turnover at the Junction Oval during that lean era.
