Bio
Recruited to Hawthorn during the club's dominant 1980s era, Peter Curran carved out a niche as a reliable key forward amidst a galaxy of stars. Known affectionately as "Sticky" for his vice-like hands and strong overhead marking ability, he served as an effective foil to Jason Dunstall and Dermott Brereton, often capitalising on the attention drawn by his high-profile teammates. Curran proved to be a clutch performer on the big stage, playing in three premiership sides (1986, 1988, and 1989) and contributing vital goals during the Hawks' most successful period.
Following the 1990 season, Curran transferred to the Brisbane Bears, bringing valuable finals experience to a struggling expansion list. Although his stint in Queensland was brief, yielding two seasons of senior football, his recruitment was part of the Bears' strategy to bolster their young squad with hardened bodies. He retired with over 200 goals to his name, best remembered as an integral, if sometimes unsung, component of a legendary Hawthorn forward line.
