Bio
Recruited from VAFA powerhouse Old Xaverians, Peter Curtain was a standout amateur footballer who received a brief opportunity at the elite level with St Kilda in the mid-1980s. After tasting premiership success with the Xavs in 1981, the 185cm utility was brought into a struggling Saints outfit but found opportunities scarce, managing just two senior appearances across two seasons that both resulted in heavy losses. Unable to secure a permanent place in the lineup, he returned to the amateur ranks where he truly left his mark, immediately winning Old Xaverians' best and fairest in 1986 and serving as club captain for three years. While his VFL career was a fleeting cameo, Curtain cemented his legacy outside the professional league, eventually earning selection for the Australian Amateurs team at the 1988 Bicentennial Carnival.
