Bio
Recruited from amateur club De La Salle, Peter Czerkaski served Richmond as a versatile defender and tagger throughout the difficult late 1980s period. Utilizing his pace and strong anticipation, he was often tasked with run-with roles or patrolling the half-back flank, though a persistent run of injuries restricted him to just 46 senior appearances over six seasons. His time at Punt Road was highlighted by a goal on debut against North Melbourne and a controversial 1989 incident where he was knocked unconscious behind play by Hawthorn's Gary Buckenara, resulting in a three-week suspension for the Hawk. After departing the AFL in 1990, Czerkaski found continuity and success in the VFA with Sandringham, where he reinvented himself as a premiership-winning full-back and was eventually named in the Zebras' Team of the Century.
