Bio
Standing at a towering 203cm, Peter Ellis was a pioneering interstate recruit who arrived at Fitzroy from Queensland club Mayne. A giant ruckman in an era where such height was a rarity, Ellis had already represented his home state before making the move to the VFL in 1969. Despite his imposing physical frame, he struggled to cement a regular spot in the Lions' senior side, managing just seven games across three seasons as he battled for ruck duties. Following his stint at Fitzroy, Ellis moved west and forged a successful career in the WAFL with Subiaco, where he played 88 games and later represented Queensland again in State of Origin football.
