Bio
A key defender known for his closing speed and spoiling ability, Peter Faulks endured a winding path to senior football that highlighted the value of state-league perseverance. Originally drafted by Sydney in 2006, he spent two seasons on the Swans' list without making a senior appearance before being delisted. Faulks rebuilt his reputation in the VFL with Williamstown, where his commanding defensive work prompted Fremantle to recruit him via a trade with Gold Coast, who had accessed him through their expansion concessions. He finally made his AFL debut in late 2011, though his second match was marred by a severe cheekbone fracture sustained in a collision with Collingwood ruckman Cameron Wood. Faulks struggled to break back into the Dockers' lineup, adding just one more game before his 2013 delisting, after which he returned to Williamstown to become a premiership player and highly respected club figure.
