Bio
Recruited from Frankston, Peter Hines was a versatile tall who split his time between the ruck and the forward line for Footscray in the late 1960s. Standing 188cm, he possessed the size to compete in the followers division during that era but also demonstrated a natural instinct for goal, finishing his career with a neat average of one major per game. He broke into the senior side in 1968, yet despite his ability to hit the scoreboard, he struggled to command a regular position in the starting lineup over his three seasons at the Western Oval. Hines remained on the fringe of selection throughout his tenure, ultimately departing the VFL scene after the 1970 season with 12 games to his name.
