Bio
Recruited from Portland in western Victoria, Peter Hogan arrived at Punt Road in 1963 following a fierce clearance battle involving several league clubs. A diminutive but courageous rover standing just 173cm, he was known for his sharp football brain and reliable finishing skills, averaging well over a goal a game throughout his tenure at Tigerland. Despite establishing himself as a dangerous option forward of centre and playing regular senior football as a teenager, Hogan parted ways with the club at the end of 1966, just as the Tom Hafey premiership dynasty was beginning to take shape. He transferred to the VFA, where he became a legendary figure at Sandringham as a prolific goal-kicking rover and coach, eventually returning to the VFL/AFL system decades later to coach the Richmond and Sydney reserves.
