Bio
Recruited from SANFL club Central District, Peter Jonas joined North Melbourne in 1981 and quickly established himself as a clever rover and small forward. With a sharp eye for goal and the ability to read the play off the hands of tall forwards, he proved to be a dangerous offensive weapon, tallying 115 goals across his 82 games at Arden Street. While he played during a competitive era for the club under coaches Barry Cable and John Kennedy, he ultimately retired without capturing a premiership. Jonas remained heavily involved in the game post-retirement, carving out a long and successful tenure as a highly rated assistant coach at multiple AFL clubs including Sydney and Adelaide.
