Bio
Recruited from Broadford, Peter Keays was a defensive-minded utility who played 89 games across two clubs in the 1970s and 80s. He began his career at Melbourne, where he won the reserves Best and Fairest in 1977 but struggled to secure a regular senior spot over four seasons. The Demons bypassed interest from the VFA to trade him to Fitzroy, where he found more consistency as a backman, adding 49 games to his tally between 1978 and 1981. After his VFL days concluded, Keays continued his football journey with East Fremantle in the WAFL and later Springvale in the VFA.
